Overview

Job Summary

As a Runner, you will play a key supporting role in ensuring seamless coordination between the kitchen and the front-of-house team. You will be responsible for delivering food and beverages promptly and accurately, helping to maintain the flow of service and ensuring guests receive their orders efficiently and professionally.

This role is ideal for energetic and detail-oriented individuals who enjoy working in a fast-paced environment and who are eager to gain experience within a high-quality restaurant setting.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Deliver food and beverage orders from the kitchen and bar to the appropriate tables quickly and accurately.
  • Ensure that dishes are presented correctly and match ticket specifications before leaving the pass.
  • Communicate effectively with chefs and service staff to ensure smooth coordination during service.
  • Assist in explaining dishes to guests when required, ensuring confidence and accuracy.
  • Support the service team by clearing plates and assisting with resetting tables when necessary.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of service stations and pass areas throughout service.
  • Monitor table progression and assist in maintaining smooth pacing of courses.
  • Report any delays, incorrect orders, or guest concerns immediately to senior team members.
  • Adhere strictly to hygiene, safety, and food handling standards.
  • Provide general support to both kitchen and front-of-house teams to ensure service excellence.
  • Carry out any other reasonable duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Previous experience in a restaurant environment is considered an asset but is not essential.
  • Strong communication skills with a good command of English.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • High level of energy, urgency, and attention to detail.
  • Team-oriented mindset with a positive and proactive attitude.
  • Professional appearance and willingness to learn.

Other Requirements

  • Ability to stand and move continuously during service.
  • Comfortable carrying multiple plates and working in a busy service environment.

Working Conditions

  • Required to work flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
  • Fast-paced, high-energy dining environment requiring stamina and strong teamwork.
