Overview

As we enter an exciting phase of growth, we are looking for a dynamic and hands-on IT Manager to take ownership of our technology landscape and drive it forward. This key role will oversee the full spectrum of IT operations, including infrastructure, systems, networks, hardware, software, and inventory, ensuring seamless day-to-day functionality while laying the foundation for scalable, future-ready solutions. 

The ideal candidate is a proactive, service-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about using technology to elevate both operational excellence and the guest experience. 

Duties & Responsibilities 

  • Oversee the daily operations of hotel IT systems, including but not limited to OPERA, Micros, CRM, and accounting software.
  • Ensure reliable performance of guest-facing technologies such as smart room controls, in-room entertainment systems, and mobile applications, enhancing the digital guest experience.
  • Develop and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans to minimize downtime and ensure resilience.
  • Provide timely support to staff for hardware and software issues, ensuring minimal downtime and smooth operations across departments.
  • Ensure 24/7 availability and performance of business-critical systems, with robust backup and recovery processes in place.
  • Maintain and regularly update the inventory of all IT-related assets (laptops, workstations, mobile devices, printers, etc.).
  • Coordinate procurement and lifecycle management of devices, including ordering, installation, upgrades, repairs, and disposal.
  • Manage software licensing and subscriptions, ensuring compliance with vendor agreements.
  • Implement and enforce cybersecurity measures across the property, including firewalls, antivirus software, and user access controls.
  • Monitor network traffic and data integrity to prevent breaches or data loss.
  • Support GDPR and other regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Collaborate with management and department heads to identify technology needs and improvement areas.
  • Lead IT projects such as infrastructure upgrades, system integrations, and new software rollouts.
  • Assist in preparing and managing the IT budget, including forecasting for upcoming needs and cost optimisation.
  • Contribute to strategic planning for future IT capabilities aligned with business growth and guest experience innovation.
  • Collaborates with project managers, architects and other stakeholders during the design and construction phases of new buildings to ensure seamless integration of IT and Extra Low Voltage (ELV) systems such as CCTV, access control etc. 
  • Contribute strategically in the planning and selection of technologies and vendors for TV systems, internet, ELV and the broader IT infrastructure of new buildings.
  • Lead the evaluation and selection of solutions for structured cabling, TV and casting systems, BMS (Building Management Systems), CCTV, connectivity, and network architecture.
  • Oversee the testing and commissioning of all systems prior to handover, ensuring they meet operational standards and guest expectations.
  • Liaise with external IT service providers and consultants to ensure quality and cost-effective support.
  • Manage relationships with telecom, network, and system vendors to ensure SLAs are met.
  • Provide basic IT training and onboarding support for new team members.
  • Maintain up-to-date documentation on IT systems, policies, and standard operating procedures.

Qualifications & Experience 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in a similar IT role, preferably within the hospitality industry.
  • Certifications such as CompTIA, Microsoft, or Cisco will be considered an advantage.
  • Hands-on problem solver with a proactive and service-oriented approach.
  • Excellent time management and the ability to prioritise competing demands.
  • High integrity and reliability, especially in handling sensitive data and systems.
  • Adaptable and forward-thinking, with a desire to grow alongside the business.
