Job Description


We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Junior Housekeeping Attendant to join our team at Iniala Harbour House.  In this role, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the impeccable cleanliness and presentation of our guest rooms and public areas, ensuring an unforgettable experience for our guests.  

The ideal candidate will be meticulous, with strong attention to detail and motivated to provide excellent quality of work. Previous experience in a similar role within a high-end establishment will be considered an advantage.  

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Thoroughly clean and prepare guest rooms according to established standards, including changing linens, making beds, dusting, vacuuming and ensuring overall tidiness. 
  • Restock room amenities, towels, linens, and other supplies are needed. 
  • Inspect and ensure all in-room equipment, lights, electronics and appliances are in proper working condition and immediately reports any malfunctions to the relevant departments. 
  • Reports any maintenance issues or special requests to the appropriate departments.  
  • Maintains the cleanliness and attractiveness of public areas, such as lobby, corridors and restrooms.  
  • Regularly vacuum, mop and dust public spaces to maintain a pristine appearance. 
  • Delivers and retrieves items on loan to guests e.g iron and ironing boards etc.  
  • Performs rotation cleaning duties as instructed.  
  • Restocks supplies in public areas including restroom essentials and guest amenities.  
  • Pays meticulous attention to detail when cleaning and arranging guest rooms and public spaces, ensuring the highest levels of cleanliness and presentation. 
  • Returns and restocks cleaning trolley at the end of each shift.  
  • Provides exceptional service and contributes to a positive guest experience by promptly fulfilling any special requests and attending to guest needs with professionalism and courtesy. 
  • Respects guest privacy and maintain confidentiality at all times. 
  • Collaborates with fellow housekeeping team members to ensure efficient turnover of guest rooms and effective allocation of tasks.  
  • Communicates effectively with other departments to coordinate guest needs and special requirements. 
  • Adheres to established health and safety protocols to maintain a clean and safe environment for both guests and staff.  
  • Properly handle and dispose of cleaning chemicals, materials and wate according to hotel guidelines. 
  • Carries out other job-related duties as required. 

Qualifications & Experience

  • Proven experience in a housekeeping role, preferably in a luxury or high-end establishment. 
  • Strong attention to detail and dedication to delivering impeccable cleaning standards.  
  • Excellent time management skills to efficiently complete tasks within allotted timeframes.  
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, adapting to varying workload demands. 
  • Strong communication skills, with fluency in the English language.  
  • Knowledge of proper usage and handling of cleaning chemicals and equipment. 
  • Physical ability to perform cleaning tasks, including lifting, bending and standing for extended periods.  
  • Required to work shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
